SERVICES

CS Watch Repairs offer all of your common maintenance services such as battery changes, pressure testing and band replacements, as well as more specialised work such as watch servicing and restoration.

All work is completed at the highest professional level by a trained Watchmaker.

Complete Watch Service

A complete watch service should be performed regularly (~5-7 years for newer watches) to avoid an accumulation of damage to your watch(es). The complete service involves;

  • Dismantling every component of a watch
  • Inspecting, adjusting and repairing as required
  • Cleaning all components
  • Reassembling, lubricating and regulating a watch.

The case and externals of the watch are also addressed in the full service.

Please note: this is not just oiling a watch, just a clean, just a service or just a fiddle. For this to be carried out properly it must be performed by a trained professional and in accordance to set procedures.

Restoration

As well as performing a complete watch service, restorations are typically performed on vintage or older timepieces where significant wear and maladjustment has accumulated over a long period of time. Restorations should be performed at least every 4 years.

This work requires specialised knowledge, equipment, and often more time to complete as there are usually parts to repair or replace.

For those wishing to restore sentimental or valuable timepieces, they should be careful to select a trained professional in carrying out this work as improper work can destroy a time piece.

Should any work be out of my depth, I will help you find an appropriate professional.

Maintenance

Between services, maintenance can sometimes be required on our most loved watches. Opposed to a full service, maintenance allows us to attend to a specific section of the watch.

Maintenance can include;

  • Battery replacements
  • Timing adjustments
  • Pressure testing
  • Gasket replacement
  • Band replacement
  • Glass replacement
  • Dial/face repairs
  • Any other work to a specific part of the watch.

Maintenance does not usually involve working on the watch mechanism as this is done during a complete service and does not usually require maintenance.
